We’ve had fantastic success stories from some of our members expanding and moving on to bigger and better things recently! Our south Norfolk site, Hethel Engineering Centre, is first and foremost an incubation space, where businesses can start out, grow into bigger premises on site and eventually move on in order to deal with their growth. With over 200 businesses making Hethel their home over the years, attracting those in high-performance engineering and manufacturing, we’re proud to have our award-winning centre be a part of some super success stories in the region. While it’s great having all of these fantastic members at Hethel, we love nothing more than to see them succeeding and outgrowing us!
Neucin Design Limited
Neucin Design first came to Hethel Engineering Centre four years ago at the beginning of their journey as a relatively new business, having previously worked with well-known medical and pharmaceutical companies. With the goal to support their clients’ needs throughout the entire development life cycle, co-founders Gavin Kovacs and Carol Balflour, along with their team, design and develop medical devices from idea generation, testing and industrialisation. Throughout Covid, Neucin worked with Norfolk County Council and Hethel Innovation to help support the PPE shortage initiative, manufacturing and assembling over 4000 face shields and upgrading over 20,000 for local front-line workers. In August, Neucin made the exciting move to new premises just down the road in Hethersett. We were so pleased to hear the team were expanding and had outgrown our incubation centre; after all that’s what it’s all about! Their new space has allowed for some fantastic opportunities including a brand-new clean room enabling the team to build and test critical medical devices and life science products in a monitored environment.
Haas Automation UK
Neighbours of Neucin, Hethel Engineering Centre member, Haas Automation UK, have recently moved their demonstration and training facility from the centre to their own facility in Wymondham! One of the largest machine tool builders in the world, Haas manufactures a complete line of CNC products. The Haas UK Headquarters is also situated locally in Norwich, heading up this side of the pond’s massively successful American company, where their Californian hub manufactures and distributes all over the world. Haas Automation UK still remains the only Haas distributor to purely specialise in Haas machines.
With other UK based sites for showrooms and dedicated parts facilities, Hethel Engineering Centre housed their most popular machines for operator training and live demonstrations. Their machines and tools have ended up in 21 of the world’s top 25 universities for education, research and development programmes, including Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard!
